Radomir Dopieralski
(sheep)
You want Windows users to be able to play your game without installing anything, but you don't want to waste time with Py2Exe? This is something for you! Python and PyGame bundled in a compiled binary executable, just add your game files (possibly in a single convenient ZIP file), and let them play. Detailed instructions at the project's home page.

go to his bitbucket page, he explains it. its really simple. Just drop the exe file into your directory (where your game is) make a .bat file with some simple command like (pyg.exe nameofyourgame.py) then... you can launch your game typing the name of the .bat file into the command line or even make it clickable :)

Have tried a few python 2.7 and python 3 files and unfortunately it didn't work with any. Great idea though, and a relatively small file size at ~ 4 meg

if you could somehow give us information on compiling other things into it, such as numpy or pgext, that'd be a huge help.

Tried it with wine. It seemed to recognize that there was no numpy module available, but once that was no longer an issue, the program just did nothing.

Thank you. Very useful. Wish I had found this earlier. :)

you have drag and drop your pygame's main.py file into pyg.exe to get it to work. So unless you use it with a dos batch file you'll be constantly dragging and dropping still though it's a good app if you're in a hurry 8-)
