PyCaptain is a multiplayer game played over network or locally in solo. It uses false perspective to give a 3d effects to 2d graphics. Choose your chip, build up its turrets and defenses, manage your resources, deal with other players and apply different strategies to win in combat.

getlogin does NOT work on windows. In fact, it makes the client fail on line 4 when it is tried to be imported. You can move the try/except to that line instead of where you call getlogin() and do something like this:

from os import getlogin
def getlogin():
return "saluk"

Also your instructions say to execute, when they should say to execute pyfl. If is executed, the path isn't set up right.

This game took a while to figure out what was going on and how the interface worked. The main problem with the game is how slow it runs. I'm not so sure pygame is such a good system for millions of rotating objects with whatever scaling etc is going on. It would be a bit of work to convert, but you should use opengl (which you can use from within pygame, if you have pyopengl installed) or pyglet (which uses opengl automatically). Still I'm not totally convinced this is the cause of the slowdown.

This does look like an interesting project. I haven't been able to try multiplayer yet, but I will when I get a chance.
